MEET THE STAFF
Anton Tabar
Founder and CEO
Anton was one of the two original founders of MySchoolTA.org. His passion to help students came from his own experiences with his children and their peers. Seeing the stress and challenges that students face today, and the beneficial impact that tutoring has had on these students, has motivated him to found this service. It's also his goal to level the playing field among students by making this as affordable as possible to enable the most students to participate. For the last 2 years, Anton has focused on how to help students successfully get through high school, into college, and ultimately into a career that meets their goals.
Anton holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Computer Science from UC Irvine. He has also completed the Executive Program For Scientists and Engineers from UC San Diego. He worked in the technology industry for 35 years delivering consumer products to market, first as an engineer and then in management. He is also the current President on the Board of Directors for a retail company. He is married and has 2 children: one has graduated college and one is currently attending college.
Alex Liff
Founder and VP of Marketing and Sales
Alex was one of the two original founders of MySchoolTA.org. Alex is very passionate about education having spent over 20 years of his life studying various disciplines and courses. He has had extensive experience interacting with TAs, tutors and various online learning services. As a father of three school age children he has had a plethora of educational experiences that have helped shape his thinking and approach to kids’ education. Alex is very familiar with the challenges faced by today’s generation in navigating the growing complexities of modern education.
Alex holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Computer Science from Northwestern University as well as an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Alex has spent over 27 years in the technology industry, first in technical and later in marketing and business development leadership roles. He has led numerous successful product launches for various consumer and enterprise products and services. He is multi-lingual and has spent considerable time overseas having lived and worked in Europe and has traveled extensively throughout the world. Alex currently serves as a CFO on the HOA board of directors and is the founder and a CEO of a property tax consulting business. He is also a passionate and talented writer who freelances and has had articles published in various publications.
Kristina Tabar
Webmaster and TA Coach
Kristina was born and raised in San Diego. She attended Scripps Ranch High School until 2012 when she traveled to the Midwest to become and engineer at Purdue University. She graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering with a strong focus in Usability Design. With her love for technology and her focus always on the user's experience, she re-centered her professional commitments towards Web Application Development.
She has always had a love for teaching and wants to help students achieve their full potential. While at Purdue she was a tutor for a Women in Science organization and a computer programming Teaching Assistant. At her previous job she was an SAT tutor for inner city students in Chicago. Additionally, she is currently on her way to starting her own business teaching piano lessons.
She was one of our first TA's here at MySchoolTA and is now directing her efforts towards on-boarding and coaching our Teaching Assistant staff as well as driving graphics and usability design and management of our website.
